The Glow Questionnaire: Chris Edwards on the products, habits and rituals she swears by

Welcome to The Glow Questionnaire, HoneyGlow’s recurring series where we ask founders, practitioners, beauty insiders and wellness experts to spill the recommendations, rituals and random little things they genuinely swear by. We’re talking about the products they repurchase on autopilot, the habits that make a difference, the wellness trends they regret spending money on, and the underrated finds they’d recommend to a friend without hesitation.

This week, we’re kickstarting the series with none other than our founder, Chris Edwards. After spending 17 years building Honeycombers into one of Southeast Asia’s most trusted lifestyle media brands, Chris is now on a mission to change the conversation around women’s health.

The idea for HoneyGlow came after her own experience navigating perimenopause, unexplained symptoms, and a healthcare system that often leaves women searching for answers.

We asked her to spill the products, rituals, habits and recommendations she genuinely swears by.

The Glow, Decoded

The first thing you put on your face in the morning is… Face Hero face oil by Go-To, quickly followed by tinted sunscreen by Ultra Violette.

The last thing you do before bed is… take magnesium and tell the kids to turn off their lights.

Your skincare MVP, the one you’d repurchase over and over again is… Eve Lom make-up remover. I was always told not to spend money on makeup removers, but I think that is bad advice, as there is something so luscious about having a decadent and nourishing makeup remover.

Your makeup MVP is… well, I haven’t done it yet but I’ve been very keen to get my eyebrows tattooed. I’ve been told it frames the face, and I’m hoping it might bring a little more colour and structure to the face.

The beauty product you’ve personally convinced everyone you know to buy is… Hourglass Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara

The “yes it’s expensive but worth every cent” buy is… Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation. It’s about $75 but cheaper than others…

The step everyone skips that you swear is the whole game is… sleep!

The inspo pic you show your hairdresser is…

Body & wellness

Your idea of exercise is… strength classes, tennis and hiking with a girlfriend. All of these I try and do 1-2 times a week.

Your non-negotiable supplement/vitamin is… showing my age but progesterone and estogel!

When you’re feeling run down you… reach for a glass of wine (yes, it’s a very bad habit!)

Your version of a rest day is… a day spent building pottery

The wellness trend you tried, hated, and ditched is… my husband gave me a sauna for Christmas, but it takes 30 minutes to warm up, so I find it very difficult to organise myself to warm it up and still have time to hop in. I think I need one with a remote timer on my phone. Very first world problems I know.

The thing on your nightstand right now is… a stack of fiction books.

The craziest thing you have ever done on your health, wellness or beauty journey is… I tried Kambo once. Kambo is the poisonous secretions of the giant monkey frog, which are used in certain traditional Amazonian rituals and you can do this in the hills of Byron Bay (where I live).

The practice involves applying these secretions to the skin to trigger intense physiological reactions, often characterised as a “cleansing” or “detoxification” process. It was wild, and I honestly don’t think I would do it again. But hey, if you live in Byron Bay, you are going to come across some alternative health options.

Your actual bedtime (be honest) is… 930pm. Ok, 10pm.

Things she won’t shut up about

The last thing you added to cart is… tickets to a concert for my daughter.

Your most-repeated recommendation of all time is… I always like to book a holiday from a holiday. When you are on holiday, it is the perfect time to research and book your next trip. It doesn’t need to be expensive, but when you come home, you have something to look forward to… it prevents the post-holiday blues.

The spot in Singapore you send everyone to is… Telok Ayer and Amoy Street. They are my go-to for food, cute architecture, and fun bars. They have everything for a great lunch or night out. It’s also where we had our first Honeycombers office back in 2011, so it’s really special to me personally.

Your comfort watch is… Off Campus at the moment – steamy, cute, lovely, totally recommended.

The best recommendation anyone’s ever given you is… It’s all about your mindset.

Your fave app is… the weather app.

Off-duty essentials

You feel most like yourself when you’re wearing… a red lipstick. It brings my face back to life!

Your most constant style staple is… solid colours

You don’t leave the house without… my Chloe basket bag, it’s my absolute fave.

A free Saturday morning is spent… hand-building pottery, my latest obsession.

Your busiest group chat is… the one called ‘Babes’, which is my besties

You feel most “glowy” when… I’ve had 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. With 3 kids and a dog that loves a midnight bark festival, it doesn’t happen very often!

Your grave stone should say… laughs loud, did not sit still.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from Chris, it’s that feeling good isn’t about perfection. It’s about finding what works for your body, ignoring what doesn’t, and staying curious enough to keep asking questions.
